This video was posted on UKClimbing last friday. I persoanlly though it was one of the best short climbing Films i have seen in a very long time.
Its by a guy called Jamie Maddison who i belief is a student at Cardiff university. I think the reason i like this video so much is that it shows the normal side of climbing and how a route/problem can be something that you know is out of your league but yet you want to try it even though you know your proabably going to fail overall, even though thats nothing to be ashamed of!
Jamie describes the video:
A short film about the mega classic boulder problem Deliverance at Stanage Plantation. At V8 7b+, it was way out of my league and it was always likely I would fail on it. However, the line is so good and problem so fantastic I couldn’t stop trying it. This is a film about failure but not in a negative way. I suppose its about the fun one can have along the way, even if we don’t always win.
You can see more of Jamie’s video on his Vimeo page. Apparently he’s working on another similiar project at the moment so hopefully that will be just as good.
Oh and the soundtrack to the video is Sigur Rós, which gets extra brownie points!
